As a body psychotherapist it became evident how much tension and stress we hold in the body. Clients would come in with neck pain, headaches, back pain etc. Often this was work and life style related. I noticed my natural tendency to massage the area where the stress was being held. After a while I decided to take a massage course to be able to help my clients more effectively than just giving them a 'rub'.
Learning a basketful of massage techniques was very enjoyable and the massage course offered much more than I expected. Learning about our magnificent body and how we adapt with over using and under using certain muscle groups to counter balance bad posture, repetitious actions. How with simple and effective techniques a massage therapist can offer tremendous relief from pain and strain in different parts of the body, sometimes we had these issues for years.
